Who we are and what we offer.
DECADES OF MARINE MECHANICS EXPERIENCE
With over 40 years of combined experience in marine mechanics, repowers, and rigging, we strive to bring the best quality products and marine services to the Big Island. We hold Outboard Service Certifications for Mercury (including the new Mercury V12 engines), Mercruiser, and Suzuki, and Marine Diesel Drives & Transmissions Certification for Volvo Penta.
Riddle Marine was founded in 2011 by owner & operator Steven Riddle as a small mom & pop shop (called Riddle Works) with a focus on building a line of boats crafted for Hawaiian waters using the best materials in the market for longevity and high performance.
Eventually Riddle Works opened a marine retail store in Kona, Riddle Marine. We grew the business’s power center, taking on additional dealerships and certifications beyond Volvo Penta to add Mercury Outboards, Mercruiser, Cox Diesel, and Yanmar. Over the years, Riddle Marine has grown into a leading supplier of fiberglass and composites, marine parts, Mercury outboards, and more. Our service center continues to be a reliable offering to our community of fishermen and boat-owners who need the support of expert mechanics.
Now, Riddle Marine is focused on bringing the best quality power and service to the marine market here in Hawai’i along with providing an expanding retail market specializing in engine parts, fiberglass supply, and general boating. We are proud to offer the Big Island competitive growth in the Marine Supply industry, especially for those hazmat and hard-to-ship items that haven’t been available to our local market in the past.
CHANGING THE INDUSTRY FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAWAI’I
You can find us in the Honokohau district of Kailua Kona on the Big Island. Honokohau Harbor is a full-service Marina offering dry dock facilities, world-renowned deep-sea tournaments, and over 250 moorings.
Our services to this recreational and commercial community include regular engine maintenance, repowers, complete new boat rigging, haul-outs, tow services, electronics installations, trailer tire mounting, and full-service boat management programs for our off-island clients.
Most recently, Riddle Marine has diversified our partnerships and expanded our company to meet all the marine needs of our Big Island clients. In our next chapter, we are looking forward to bringing on new partnerships with new boat manufacturers to once again provide high-quality boats to the community. SERVICE CENTER
The Riddle Marine Service Center offers Authorized Repowers and other Certified Marine Mechanic services for your boat and motor. We will keep your boat safe and on the water.

ENGINES
We are authorized dealers for your favorite motors: Mercury, Cox Diesel, Volvo Penta, Yanmar, and Mercruiser. We offer special deals throughout the year on new motors for your boat.

RETAIL STORE
Riddle Marine’s retail store in Kona has everything you need from parts, to accessories, to major upgrades for your boat and motors. We specialize in fiberglass supply and composites. Drop by anytime!

GENERATORS
We provide both Kohler and Westerbeke marine generators so that you can have reliable power, and consistent performance out on the water. We also offer service & repair to our Kohler & Westerbeke customers.

BOAT MANAGEMENT
We offer a variety of professional management services for clients who want the benefits of boat ownership without the hassle of maintenance. Let us handle everything you need, so you can enjoy more time on the water.

TOWING & HAUL-OUTS
We provide island-wide boat towing and trailer haul-out services from the Honokohau Harbor for those that need transportation or support getting your boat out of the water. We will also take your boat right to our shop if it needs servicing!

Yes, we have the largest in-house stock of Mercury outboards in the state of Hawai’i. Give us a call and we’d love to talk with you about which motor is right for you!

If you’d like to join us for a sea trial, we have anglers and pro staff members that we can connect you with to arrange a sea trail for you. Please contact us directly to inquire.

Yes we offer pre-purchase inspections for all the brands that we represents (Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, Yanmar, and Cox Diesel).
